PERFORMANCE THAT PACKS, BICYCLES THAT FLY

Welcome to Bike Friday

Welcome to Bike Friday, where we believe the bicycle is still the most efficient, human-centred form of transportation ever designed.

We exist to offer elegant, personal solutions to modern problems: reducing reliance on car culture, supporting healthier lives, and strengthening communities, one thoughtfully built bike at a time.

Each Bike Friday is made to order, because every rider is different. We listen first, build with care, and stand behind our work. We don’t just want to build bikes; we want to build long-term relationships rooted in service, not just transactions.

Our guiding belief is simple: a bicycle should amplify your life. It should fit you, reflect you, and be there when you need it wherever you are in the world.

Walters Hot Take on the Pro’s and Con’s of Thru-Axles

Walters Hot Take on the Pro’s and Con’s of Thru-Axles

Thru-axles are not a new thing in the bike industry. They've been around since about the 2000s and have dominated traditional bikes, at least outside the lowest end options, for about the past decade. They're new for Bike Friday, though. Thru-axles have now got to the point that they're so dominant, like disc brakes, that we really must offer them. While there are certainly business reasons for this, there are also technical reasons that make thru-axles a wise choice on nearly any bike.

How Dolly Llama Found Her Way Home

How Dolly Llama Found Her Way Home

It didn't matter how many times I looked. My bike was gone. My heart: broken. Dolly Llama is a 2010 Pocket Llama I had custom built for me. I was so proud of her. Performance that Packs with my name emblazoned on the side. She and I rode from Seattle to Portland.  Then countless miles over Salt Lake City roads...my boys in tow. But all seemed lost that August morning, as I stood in front of the empty spot my bike once occupied.

Winter Escape Routes for Your Bike Friday: Community-Picked Pedals

Fold up, fly out, ride free. When the northern chill bites, Bike Friday owners know the drill: pack the bike that fits in a suitcase, chase the sun, and turn winter into prime pedaling season. Our community chimed in with dream destinations for November through February—spring-to-summer down south, dry-season bliss in the tropics, or crowd-free […]

Tangerine Dream: My Bike Friday All-Day E-Bike Tour Across Oregon

I believe, about a year ago, Bike Friday started the production of their first foldable e-bike, in partnership with Bosch, named All-Day. I am not the youngest anymore but I thought there is one more new bike in me! So, early February this year I made contact with Bike Friday’s Peter Berra and three weeks […]

Made Show 2025: Introducing Thru Axles and a new paint scheme Power Bronze – In Portland

We were very proud to present this Bike Friday All-Packa at this year’s MADE show. This gravel-focused special was dreamed up by Walter Lapchynski, who was given full freedom to explore what the ultimate All-Packa for gravel could look like. The outcome reflects both creativity and practicality, a bike designed with real riders in mind, […]
